1Thessalonians5:16-18
"Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."

One of the attitude that i surely know God wants in me and all His people is be Joyful!!

Does it mean that when we received Christ, there will be zero problem in our lives? Answer is No!

The fact is there will always be problems in our lives whether you like it anot. However, after having God in my life, i learned to see how my problems can be a blessing from God and be joyful always. My conviction is God always wants us to be happy and blessed, Devil always wants us to be stressed, emo, depressed and feel negative about ourselves.

God knows our struggle whenever we meet problems. Yes, He really knows and He wants to set us free. Only by choosing to follow His ways of living then we can attain the fullness in life!

Take a closer look at the verse above! God told us to be joyful always!!! Can you believe it? Not sometimes but ALWAYS!!! "Is it possible?" i was thinking when i 1st read this. My conclusion is that i choose to believe it's possible! Because God loves His people and if you love someone, you will always want that someone to be always happy.

After i began to believe, i don't just stop there. I follow His way of living by praying continually! Praying is like talking. A communication. Whether good things or bad things, i be totally truthful in wat i say to Him and the people around as i share and account. When i think or feel nasty things, i make sure i confess it and not let Devil have any foothold to it! When i am happy and good things are happening, i make sure i praise Him all the way!

The greatest challenge in a personal walk with God, which i think, is choosing to praise Him in all circumstances! Not during the good times, but also the bad times! That's why in verse 18 He said "in all circumstance." But many people will say "how can!!?" Let's me remind you that we are believing in a Supernatural God. It is when we choose to praise Him even in bad bad situations, then the supernatural things happen in our lives! God did mentioned we need strength to love Him, it not going to be easy to praise Him in bad times. But if you want to see the supernatural, you need to be supernatural and do what you have never done before!

Christianity is never a religion. It's a personal relationship with God. A supernatural walk with God. It's so unique that no one can teach unless you walk your own journey with God yourself.

Take a good real walk with God, you will not regret it brothers.. =)

Voice of Truth (Part I)

Greetings in the name of Christ Jesus our Lord and Saviour!

VaZe here again!! WOOOOOOOOHOOOO!!!

Today, i'm gonna share my devotion with u ppl... It comes from 1 Kings 19:9-15 (Flip ur bibles open and start reading!!)

Ok, main character is Elijah (dun tell me u dunno who he is)... I marvel this man of God, because:
1. He has great confidence in his identity as a man of God that he proclaims it (2 Kings 1:10)
2. One of the few prophets that perform a lot of signs and wonders
3. One of the 2 people in history that never experienced death (Imagine his walk with GOD! IMBA!!)

Pastor preached on Sunday that we must recognize the voice of God. This is critically important because at times, the bible is not so direct in our daily lives. Why? The bible revolves around the lives of people of the past, no computers, no handphones, no modern social vices like smoking, drugs and cyber addiction. Thus, when we face with problems of the present (eg: cyber addiction), there is no direct message in the bible to tackle the modern problem (eg: Thou shalt not play games excessively)

Thus, some modern problems have become a grey area. There "seems" to be no clear line to separate right and wrong. Quote the same example of cyber addiction, some ppl may argue/tempt you that "there is no commandments wat? So can play like nobody's bussiness lor?!"
This is where u need to rely on 3 areas to discern the black and white from wat "seems" to be grey:

#1: Revelation from the bible. Dun just read contextually, but ask GOD for in depth meaning for discernment

"The 10 commandments - Thou shalt not have other gods/idols before Me" literally means that there must be no other religion. But in depth revelation says:"addiction to cyber gaming is akin to worshipping it as an idol" Hence with this revelation, the grey area of cyber addiction is clearly defined as black.

#2 Hear the voice of truth from GOD! Always ask in prayer and petition (Eph 6:18). Spirit will bring u thru a thinking process or may reveal the answer directly to ur specific present day problem.

#3 Spiritual family. Ask for directions from experienced, reliable and credible people like pastors, cell leaders etc to listen to a divine analysis and perspective of the matter to decide if it is right or
wrong.

What now and where

Dear all brothers, its me again (VaZe)

I know we all miss Jasper and Frans alot. I do, after journeying with em' for soooooo long, learning from them, pissing them off sometimes, fellowship with them....

But now the question is now how?

I believe that the heart of Frans, Jasper, ah pa and Alvin is to see the integrity of the cell group together as 1, stronger than ever even during this time. My prayer is that the brothers will each grow spiritually as an individual, and make a combined effort to drive the cell on!!! I'm sure this is the most heartwarming gift for Frans and Jasper when they book out and learn that the cell is strong, still as crazy as ever, still running hard for GOD!!

What can we do now?

Well, I wanna make the effort to meet other brothers for dinner, especially Leonard koh, Jaren and Daryl. Though it is near impossible for me to meet the Western side ppl like bobby, johnathan, nelson and leonard seow. I believe that wayne will rise up and rally the westerners on jus the same as i do the same for the east side.

What can i do now?

I was reflecting on this even before Jasper and Frans enter army. I knew that i have to re-evaluate and my conclusion is that i wanna a temporary right hand man of ah pa as much as possible, putting my guitar skills into practice (its been ages since i last play for cell). Be more proactive to keep myself updated of the brothers' lives as well...

Closing statement:
I hope that if Jasper and Frans get the chance to see this, they'll be heartened to know that while they're sweating it out in camp, everyone in the cell is slogging hard as well

Though a war is fought on many fronts with different battles on different grounds at the same time, but there is only 1 victory, and that's an allied victory.....

(Doing this for the benefit of others and to squeeze spiritual juice out of me!)

A child of God is a believer of God!! He does what God instructs..

A believer enters the kingdom of God once he believed Christ!!

We don't need to know all the truth then to be free! A child of God just needs to practice a few simple truth and he will be set free and make known to other truth as well..

1John 2:

v12: "I write to you, dear children, because your sins have been forgiven on account of his name."

v13: "I write to you, fathers, because you have known him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil one. I write to you, dear children, because you have known the Father."

v14: "I write to you, fathers, because you have known him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God lives in you, and you have overcome the evil one."

In this passage, 3 stages of Christians were being addressed... Children, Young Men and Fathers..

The duty of the child is to GROW! Shouldn't have any other responsibility.. Even if there is, the responsibility must be given to let the child GROW IN THE LORD! If we started off zero with God when we 1st received Christ, the only thing that can be expected is that we will only get to know Him more, not any lesser as we walk with Him. Don't know anything, just ASK!!

The duty of the a young man is to OVERCOME the evil one, BE STRONG! We must not let the enemy have any foothold in our lives. We FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!! He may have established areas in us over our attitudes, habits, feelings and thinking patterns before we know God. We bound to have stuggles and difficult challenges when we want to change. Be open! share your problems and seek advise!! That's y we're reminded to BE STRONG AND to OVERCOME the evil one!

The duty of the father is to KNOW GOD! This is definitely a deeper and more intimate knowledge and experience of God than a child's. Also, unlike a young man, a father is not preoccupied with enemy. Rather, he is preoccupied with knowing God and obeying Him more and more. Even a father grows as he leads spiritual children and takes responsibility for their spiritual growth. A father definitely needs to lead by example and have strong sets of Godly values and principles to govern his life!

Which stage are you in? Is there a particular area of spiritual growth that God wants you to deal with?

Are you being regular and active in Cell and Church?

Do you share your daily challenges and struggle with your spiritual leader? Do you meet up with him regularly? If not, what are you going to do with all the important aspects of Kingdom living.

Daryl - I pray that God empowers you to be a sponge for knowledge =) to use this wisdom and spiritual knowledge to buff up this family =) "All Scripture is God-Breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be throughly equipped for every good work." 2 Timothy 3:16-17

Hafiz- I pray that God blesses you to be a spiritual warrior =) one who never backs down =) may you continuing growing at a rapid rate and be a living testimony to the world that God does not leave anyone in the lurch =) "Through Christ you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God." 1 Peter 1:21

Jonathan-I pray that God give you compassion and kindness as you reflect God's goodness in your life =) People will see the light in you and respect you for put your pride in God =) "I try to please everybody in every way. Nelson- I pray that God send his angels to protect you and keep you safe =) may he protect your soul and remind you that you are never alone in this walk of life =) every hurdle you cross is a celebration in heaven =) "My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken." Psalm 62:1-2

Victor- I pray that God build you up to be a young and extraordinary spiritual leader =) you will impact and make as difference to many youths out there =) may you never fear any adversary =) "For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not Fear; I will help you." Isaiah 41:13

Brian- I pray that God bless you with an abundance of joy =) Rise up to be one of the strong pillars of Alvin's ministry as you spread the joy of God's grace =) "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the holy spirit." Romans 15:13

my heroic ah pa- I pray that God be with you =) my father figure =) I ll always remember what you tell me " I dont give up, you dont give up" so ah pa I bless you with this verse that you may continue to give all you have to this fallen generation =) "Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus" Philippians 3:13-14

A Time for Everything

I guess I've spent the best of my teenage life in Church and I can truly say (with great humility) I have given God and the Cell group the best years of my life.

But, The even Better years are yet to come. I assure you guys that even in army, I'll still :

• J ump as high during Worship!
• E nsure that I fight to make it to Service!
• S erve the Lord with Zeal!
• U tilise every Opportunity to meet up and fellowship!
• S mile and be Myself!

So Family, My last words for you all (for the next 2 weeks only la! pardon the PCA) :

Jaren - Hang in there man! ORD soon! I pray that they will be no long sailing trips for you! Meet up with Dad and the other brothers more too! Psalms 23 : 6 'Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.' The Lord's goodness will be with you! Don't Fret!

Andre - I really enjoy the Dota matches man. We are the BoT gang! remember to jio me for dota every weekend ar! Anyways, meet up with the family more! Give us a chance to fight battles in life with you. A family that sticks together, stays together!

Jonathan - Thanks bro for teaching us the basics for BMT! Really hope to spend more time with you, so let's fight to free our SUNDAYS!!

Junliang - haha, though I forget about you right? no lo!! haha, anyways, try to fight your way to service ok! Jio Eejay and the rest out more often too ya. READ THE BIBLE!! :D haha

JJ - Take care of the Cell group too! Study hard for A levels. Don't be too hard on yourself when things don't go right. When me and frans are not around, you're considered one of the main man for Dad and the brothers already, so don't let anyone look down on u because you are one of the younger ones in the cell group! Jogging thotsz!!

Hellos... darling here.... hope u noe who i am. Give clue i'm aka lurvingualways

To give an update of me life, what happen is that i went jogging with my dad on sunday... learnt a few interesting facts....

1. The Son knows the Father and the Father knows the Son....

wat happen is that i ran 3.5km with my dad, after which i ran out of stamina and my dad ran ahead of me by a good 1km. So... being without handphone, the only way to trace and find him was to jog back the same route that we came from.... I walked abt 2km and still cannot find him... Pasir Ris Park alot of ppl mah.... In the end, found him at the start point after abt 30mins doing stretching while waiting...

lets face it, sometimes we seem to "cannot find God" or God is "nowhere to be found". I realized that if u journeyed with God over some time, u will be able to recognize God, thru His voice and the blessings He showered in ur life. Even from far, u will be able to see Him and be glad to have Him within your sights, let alone to be standing next to him. For His name is Emmanuel - GOD WITH US!!!

2. When u seek Him with all your heart, you will find Him!!

Well... though i'm rather old, its seems to scare me a bit when i cannot find me dad. We're good pals after all... When I found him, he's standing at the crossroads of the start point, a very prominent location.... As i parallel it with my walk with God, i find that it explains the verses that when we seek Him, we'll find Him, God doesn't play hide and seek with us (though hide and seek is a nice game to play though)

After all thats been said, i'm trying to highlight tat sometimes we seek God, yet "dun seem to find Him" only goes to show a thing. You've found Him, yet u dun seem to accept that. Well, God doesn't appear to u in a suit of light or with FIRE from heaven. But sometimes, its the peace and calmness in ur heart, the blessings in ur life like being able to board a bus everytime u reach a bus stop that really proves that He's near and working in u.

Thus, its really the small small things in life that assures me that God is here with me all the time, then it makes it much easier to keep ur faith in Him high in times of crisis so that no doubts enter u! Bless u....

VICTORY is already WON! We just need to RECOGNISE our IDENTITY!

During last week's cell, Ej never failed to punch in some true simple facts. This is my take back. It goes something like this:

"We receive Christ by faith! And once we received Christ, victory is already won! But there are many situations that often make us wallow in defeat, make us feel like losers and eat worms. So how do we link up or see ourselves that victory is already won once we receive Christ? We need to recognise our identity that we're the sons of God! If God is King, we're the princes!"

i was quite taken up with this point due to spiritual battlefield i fought for the past few days over the area of lust, ministry and self expectations. For the next few days, i kept on telling myself that i must really receive this sonship from God into my life. i must know that i really don't have to do anything which may put me into a slavery mode. For Jesus truly loves me, God's grace is sufficient for me and victory has already been won!

Just after 2 days, God hit me once again to affirm me through Ps Melvyn's sermon on Sunday service. He said in his 3rd point sermon that when we stepped into light, it reflects our positions from slave to son. This is my take back:

"There are people who often goes in and out the defeat zone and victory zone. They can switch between slaves in sin and sons with God in quick moments. They often keep struggling and falling back into sins. This is because they are in confusion and do not recognise their identity in Christ."

i am really thankful for God always has been kind and gracious to speak to me clearly everytime when i needed Him. For He really loves me as His son. Through any trials in life, i must really stand firm and know in my heart that the victory is already won because i am a son of God. If my God is for me, then who shall be against me! i walk by faith!

My prayer:
If anyone of us is discouraged with your walk with God, Jesus please take away any unwilling spirit in us that hinders us to do things that please You. Recognise you're a son of God!! Input that pure joy in us from You Lord. If anyone is still struggling, i pray that Lord will let you see that He has planted you in a spiritual family who is really all here to help one another to walk strong in this race with God.

Don't be too upset and disappointed. We must fight in a position of VICTORY! We're the sons of God! Bless you with..

"The one who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, for I always do what pleases Him."
